Hello Everyone!
I recently got transferred to a new store, and let's just say that there was some definite work that needed to be done in order to get that baby functioning properly. They were without management for almost 6 months and during that time there lacked any form of organization. It was chaos. Since I'm so OCD and crazy about having everything organized, I was having a panic attack every time I walked into the back office. I couldn't find anything, and I found myself focusing on what needed to be organized rather than all the other work I needed to get done. Finally I realized the best way for me to be more productive was to just tackle the chaos and get everything organized. Seeing as how this was the back office of a retail store, I am very limited in what I can do. I was able to do a few things so far that made a world of a difference. I had seen other locations who has also revamped their store's office space and was definitely inspired. Here are some of the other office spaces.
I decided to paint the office. It's crazy how much a little bit of paint can transform any space! Here's what the office looked like before.
As you can see... CHAOS! Along with organizing all of the supplies (which made a HUGE difference in how clean the space feels), I also painted all the walls to clean it up and brighten the space. I went with my go-to color Sherwin Williams Olympus White. Here's what the space looks like now.
Some other things I want to do to make the space feel like less of a disaster include:
- Spray Painting the Outdated and Ugly File Cabinet
- Painting the Frames of all the Cork Boards and Dry Erase Boards,
- Hiding all of the Hideous Cords Everywhere
- Reupholstering the Office Chairs
- Adding Some Decor
I'm sure I'll think of a few other things as time goes on, but stay tuned for the office makeover updates! Also I'll be sharing how I organized the office using product found at The Container Store!
