I’ve recently moved back in to the Breckinridge House & started fixing it up to eventually sell. Overall the place had come a long way since we moved in and a lot of changes and progress had been made, but there’s still a lotthat needs to be done before we sell the place! The living room is a pretty basic space in the house and the main thing that needed to be done was replacing the carpets. Luckily, a few months ago months ago my mom was able to snag some free flooring from a friend so we were able to go ahead and replace the carpet with new vinyl flooring.
Here’s what the place look like when we bought the house (the furniture isn’t ours).
The carpets look like they’re in pretty decent condition but when you have three dogs and a cat living in the house carpet isn’t exactly ideal. After a while the carpet just became disgusting and we knew we definitely needed to replace it with something more durable.
The walls & trim also got repainted (again) and this time I LOVE the color. We went with Behr Hush for the walls and Sherwin Williams Oxford White for all the trim.
Really new floors and paint is all the living room space needed as far as cosmetic work goes, but we definitely have some plans decoratively left to do. I need to add new curtains, replace the sofa and we also want to get a new coffee table and end tables. As you can see the dogs have destroyed the sofa- were missing a cushion 🤦🏽♀️. I would also like to add a rug and mount the TV to the wall!

Here are some of the sofas we’re looking at as options to replace that nasty green sofa.
- Pawnee Sectional with Ottoman
- Hemphill Reversible Sectional with Ottoman
- Bayard Right Hand Facing Modular Sectional with Ottoman
Stay tuned for more updates on the living room!
